Founded in January 2000, this writing group meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month in the Carindale Library meeting room. What sets this group apart from other writing groups is its open approach to diverse genres and its cooperative meeting procedures.

As a link to the writing community, it provides an opportunity for peer-based critique, encouragement and social engagement.  For more information about the Carindale Writers' Group please contact Beverley Asmus at b.asmus@bigpond.net.au.

Please note -  due to the fact that there has been an influx of new members over the past few months the group has decided to suspend new membership until 2011.  We regret having to do this but unfortunately our facilities just can not cope with any further increase in membership.

Keep an eye on this website - we will post a notice when we are again accepting new members.

If you need a qualified and experienced editor to work with you on your manuscript our recommendations are: Beverley Asmus or Dawn JohnsonFeel free to contact either of these people to discuss any help you may need in preparing your manuscript for publication.

The Carindale Group's publication, Leap In Time is an imaginative collection of short stories and poetry.  Written by sixteen emerging Queensland writers who are members of the CWG, it represents a wide range of genres and styles from magical realism to biography - a rich tapestry covering our social fabric - past, present and future.

There are a few copies of Leap In Time still available through selected bookshops in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The Carindale Writers' Group first self published in 2003.  Collections 2003, was an eBook consisting of Australiana, recollections, and short stories including some for children.  The e-book was sold through local bookstores and is still available in Brisbane public libraries and the Queensland State Library.
