The author, Franklin Neil Karmatz, started his
professional life as a journalist and editor, followed by a long
academic career in the United States and Australia. After retiring,
he continued writing book reviews on technical and historical
non-fiction subject areas. This particular manuscript is
semi-autobiographical and is intended to show what it was like
growing up in “The Great Depression.”
A former journalist, editor, publisher, behavioural scientist and
university professor, he has directed his writing to meeting
practical professional requirements. After retiring, he continued
writing book reviews on technical and historical non-fiction subject
areas. Currently, his writing is influenced by his behavioural
background, so that his fictional characters fit psychological
typologies.
