A heavy involvement in tourism training included the publication of a series of educational books by McGraw-Hill Australia. Her writing draws on a primitive childhood in the Queensland outback, personal trauma, business experiences, and extensive global travel.

Dawn's latest publication, an inspirational book, Face Values, tells the personal story of her loss and ongoing fight with disfiguring cancer.
