Tess has written many books for children for non-profit organisations on those ‘hard to talk about’ issues, ranging from having a parent in prison, parents separating, making friends, keeping safe from sexual abuse and developing self esteem. Some of her books have sold overseas in England, Russia and Hong Kong. One of Tess’s recent books, ‘Everyone’s Got A Bottom,’ won an award for educational excellence.
Tess is a writer/performer who has delivered one-woman plays which address social issues. She has also written humorous and reflective poetry. She performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 1985, was the poet in residence at Brisbane Expo 1988, (street entertainment) and has appeared twice at the Woodford Folk Festival.
